Since experimenting with an alternative diet I’ve tried my hand at making crackers a few times. Looking back I’ve only ever shared one homemade cracker recipe on here, so it’s clear that I haven’t had whopping success in the area. As such crackers are usually something I just go without.
I love the crunch and convenience of a good cracker, though, so I was giddy when Simple Mills gave me a sneak peek** at their new grain-free crackers. The snack just debuted this past week, and my family and I got to sample the cheddar and sea salt varieties before they even hit the shelves. It was very hard not to spill the beans beforehand!
The crackers are almond flour-based with no gluten, grains or soy. The sea salt variety is vegan, while the cheese crackers use organic, rBST-free cheddar cheese. The entire product line is GMO-free.
These babies are a win across the board. The texture is fantastic (super crispy) and the flavor is great. My cheese lovers preferred the cheddar ones, but I liked the sea salt best. Both boxes were quickly devoured, however, right down to the broken pieces at the bottom.
